Winter is approaching and with changing weather I can feel my skin acting up. It gets sensitive due to the cold and also really dry. It is not only my skin that gets dry, but also my lips. That’s why I am using lip balm all the time during this season. Even though Autumn might be my favourite season, I just don’t like how it affects my whole system.

My lips get dry no matter which season we are in, however, in A/W it reaches to the top level and if I go a day without applying a lip balm then at the end of the day my lips will be as dry as Sahara! One of the first things I do when I get up in the morning is to apply lip balm. I just prepare a good base for the lipstick, otherwise it won’t look good but patchy. Do you also have that problem too? So I could say that lip balm is always a must for me.

I mostly use the same lip balm brands instead of hunting for new ones, I rely on my trusted lip balms! I listed my top three lip balms, they are really budget friendly…

Burt’s Bees Natural Lip Balm

Burt’s Bees is one of my favourite brands. I like how their products are all natural. I’ve always used beeswax for years and for a change I picked up pomegranate one. First of all, I must say one thing I am disappointed about. I really don’t like the scent of it, as it smells so synthetic and doesn’t feel natural at all and to be honest it kinda made me regret purchasing it. However, the good thing about it is it’s like beeswax, my lips feel well mousturised and don’t get dry at all as long as I apply it every 2-3 hours. It is supposed to give some colour to the lips, however, I don’t think that it does. Even when swatching it on my hand, there wasn’t any colour at all!

Nivea Fruity Shine Cherry

I have been using Nivea lip balms for years and I guess it was the first lip balm brand I ever got. It is one of the cheapest lip balms on the market. It is so mousturising and also keeps the lips so soft. I don’t really like scented skincare products, but with lip products I am somewhat fine with it as long as it is not too strong. This one has such a sweet cherry scent and it gives reddish tint to your lips, so you can actually wear it when you want a natural effortless look.

Vaseline Lip Therapy

I am a huge fan of Vaseline products! I just really like how soft my skin/lips feels after using their products. I remember when I was a kid, I used to hate the feeling of it. It has thick consistency like original Vaseline and once you apply it you can be sure that your lips are well protected. It sinks into the lips in short time, makes your lip soft and leaves such a nice shine. I wouldn’t suggest you to wear a lipstick after applying this lip balm, because applying a lipstick won’t be easy. I always gently wipe it whenever I wear lipstick. I like the packaging of it, even though it might not be the most hygienic way of having a lip balm.

These are my 3 picks that I’ve been using a lot. Lip care doesn’t have to be expensive, it is good to know that there are so many affordable options and these are 3 of them! Have you used any of these lip balms? What is your favourite lip balm?
