If I have to choose between a normal lipstick and a liquid lipstick, I’d definitely go for a normal one. I have a hit and miss relationship with the liquid lipsticks. It is almost impossible to find that will tick all the boxes. ColourPop Ultra Satin Lipstick is one of my favourite and it is a good product to compare Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick.

I haven’t tried many products from Stila, there’s one that’s my ultra favourite and it is Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner. If you’re on the hunt for a new eyeliner, I’d highly recommend this one. Anyway, let’s get back to the real topic. The sixth product of M&S Advent Calendar is the mini size Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick in Perla. It looks beautiful in the packaging and the small travel size makes it handy for the party season, but is that enough to love the product? Let’s get started…

Perla is pale dusky pink colour. It has a sweet smell which is more like the cake icing/batter. If you are planning to get that colour, I would highly recommend you to test it on your lips rather than just swatching on your hand. When I did that, it looked more on the brown side or more like mauve, than it actually is. I think Perla would look more flattering on the darker skin tones. When I applied it, it looked like I applied light pinkish foundation on my lips, the look definitely was not flattering. Hubby also feels the same way about it, his first comment was “It just doesn’t look right”. I wish it looked as good as it looked as the swatches.

How is the texture? Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick has light moussey, smooth consistency which glides on the lips. Texture kind of reminds me NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. Lipstick is also really pigmented and gives a good coverage. The only problem I can see is, if you are in hurry and want to rush applying your lip product, this might give you a trouble. It might apply patchy and unevenly. You just need to make sure that you apply/layer it properly. If you tend to get dry lips, I’d highly recommend you to exfoliate(plus lip balm) beforehand. Due to the texture, the lipstick tends to sit on the dry patches and it just doesn’t look flattering.

How long does it last? Longevity changes depending on what you do. Since it is a matte lipstick and dries/sets quickly on the lips, it claims to last up to 6 hours. In my case, it lasted a few hours without budging when I had nothing to eat or drink. It might feel a little drying and starts cracking after a few hours. If you have something to eat or drink then there might be none left at the end of the meal, at least that was like that in my case. I still prefer the ColourPop Ultra Sation Lipstick over that one.

Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick is £16 for 3 ml. My first experience with the Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick wasn’t the best, mostly because of the colour, however, I might give Patina(dusty rose) a try. Would I recommend it? I think it is worth giving a try, it is just all about having the right expectations and finding the right colour. I know that I will be giving this one to someone who can actually use it!Have you tried Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick? What’s your favourite long-lasting matte liquid lipstick?
