Finding the right shampoo or conditioner is usually very challenging. Advertisement or smell of it might be appealing, however, you will never know how it will make your hair look until you give it a try. I had the same feeling with Herbal Essences Clearly Naked…
My all time favourite shampoo&conditioner is Elseve Elvive Smooth and Polish, before that it was TRESemmé’s Keratin Smooth Infusing shampoo&conditioner. Both of these shampoos were really good for my hair, my hair was soft and polished after using them.
Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Review
I guess sometimes it is good to try new things for a change. When I saw Herbal Essences Clearly Naked advertisement online, I wanted to give it a try as it sounded healthy because it had 0% paraben or silicone in it. Less chemicals are better. I used Herbal Essences shampoos before when I was living in the UK and I was happy about them, so why not give this one a try too? Thanks to my partner, he brought me some when he came to visit me (we don’t have this brand in Turkey). First impression was amazing, I really like the feeling it gave as I was rinsing my hair. Smell lasted for so long and I got positive comments about it, I could say that this shampoo’s scent is my favorite scent. Now comes the disappointing bit… After using it for over two and a half months, it dried out my hair and the shine of my hair, that healthy glow was gone. My hair was looking like a big mess and when I touch it, it was feeling hard, not soft at all. This was the time when I realised that not everything that sounds healthy might be healthy or right for you.
Even though I really like the smell of it and that squeaky clean feeling I got after washing my hair, it is not something I would recommend.
In my opinion, shampoos should help you maintain your hair healthy, soft and shiny. These are the things that I couldn’t achieve with Herbal Essences.
Like: Smell, less chemicals
Dislike: Dry hair, lack of glow
Would I recommend it? No
