NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
Do you feel like you want something just because how pretty it looks, and not because you actually need it... It happens to me a lot, I am attracted to pretty and shiny things. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream might not have a shiny packing to take my attention, but the colour range and how much raved it is in the beauty world were pretty enough for me to make a decision...
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Ibiza | Review
NYX Soft Matte lip cream in Ibiza is the first and only product I own from NYX. I got it in October, and I mentioned it in my post Mini Boots Haul. I wanted to check the quality of the products before actually investing in more products, if that makes any sense.
NYX Soft Matte range has a great colour selection (around 20), and the shades are named after cities, how cool it is! There are nudes, pinks and reds, so it is almost impossible to not find a colour you might like. I wasn't really sure about which one to get. I had my eyes on Cannes (mauvy nude), but ended up picking up Ibiza, which is a beautiful shade of pink, like coral pink. It would be an ideal lip colour for spring. These lip creams are really pigmented, so tiny amount on the brush will be more than enough for a natural looking lips.
I am new to matte lip creams, I only used a few of them and I wasn't really impressed with them. If you have dry lips like me, you probably know the struggle of wearing matte lip products. You have to scrub your lips and wear plenty amount of lip balm before putting matte products and it might not be the best option if you don't have so much time. This NYX Soft Matte lip cream goes matte after applying. Even though it is not drying for dry lips, I would highly suggest you to wear lip balm beforehand. The good thing is these lip creams are not drying, so you can wear it without worrying about getting dry lips.
What I like about NYX Soft Matte lip cream is, it is not heavy, but has really light texture and feels so soft on the lips. Even though it has creamy consistency, it doesn't feel that way on the lips. I really don't like heavy creamy lip products, which gets everywhere (it gets really hard to eat without worrying about your food), even after hours applying it. When you wear this lip cream, you can enjoy food and don't worry about your lips, once they go matte they won't move and they will actually last for hours, I am really happy to know that they are long lasting.
NYX Soft Matte lip creams has a slight scent, but it is not overwhelming. I actually like this scent, and you can't smell it once you apply it anyway, so even if you don't like scented makeup products, I can assure you that this one will not annoy you.
Overall, I really enjoy wearing this lip cream. Like I said before, even though I have dry lips, it feels so soft on the lips and it doesn't make my lips dry. The matte finish is beautiful and it being long lasting is a big plus for me. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes matte lips, you will love the finish of it.

I have a couple, and I enjoy them as well! I think NYX's soft matte cream is such an innovative formula. They had their soft matte creams way before the whole matte lip craze was revamped, and even after every brand came out with a matte lip product, I have yet to find one comparable to NYX's formula. Great post!! I do not normally use mattes because I had heard previously (and perhaps incorrectly) that they are incredibly drying your lips. But it sounds like particular one helps combat that, and lasts through meals?? #EPIC! I have the same problem as you.. Some of the mattes are really drying on the lips, but not this one. If you moisturise your lips properly, this won't feel uncomfortable on the lips. Good marketing always work on me! x
As you said it can be hard to find matte lipsticks that aren't too drying... But if you're happy with the NYX lip cream then I think it would work for me as well, as I've got very dry lips too. Having dry lips is horrible, but scrubbing and applying generous amount of lip balm always work.

I love the Soft Matte Lip Creams! I have quite a few shades and they're so comfortable to wear! I have the driest lips on the planet and for a matte product to not emphasize or make it worse is definitely a win for me! Great post and Ibiza is SUCH a beautiful colour! I wasn't really sure how it would be on my dry lips, but it makes them feel so soft and the velvety finish is a bonus! I want to get more shades :) x

I have yet to try any NYX lip products - or any of their products at all as I can't really find them anywhere in Portugal and I always like to try things out before purchasing, but the colour looks so gorgeous and I've read so many great things on them. I am the same, I like to try before purchasing but this one had to be bought without trying, and I don't regret this decision! It feels so soft and velvety on the lips. I am sure you'd love it too, so if you ever get a chance, definitely try them on! x
