Trustworthy Makeup: Trusty Foundation
When you cover over 90% of your face with one product, you sure want it to be good, don't you? Yes, we are talking about foundations. There are so many foundations in the market starting from as low as a few pound to over one hundred pound. If someone asked you which is your trusty foundation, what would be your answer?
It is normal to get lost when there are so many choices. We are living in a consumer society! So, many choices and unnecessary purchases. Do you feel guilty getting things you don't actually need? Skincare and foundation are two things that play important role in a good looking skin. You can't expect your foundation to look flawless when you don't look after your skin. It is also the other way around too.
Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation has been the ultimate favourite and the trusty foundation which I know I could always rely on. It gives full coverage and airbrushed finish without feeling heavy on the skin. It lasts for hours even on oily skin. If you have oily skin, then you know the struggle of finding a good long lasting foundation. I don't know if it actually stays 15 hours, but I can confirm that it stays longer than MAC Pro Long Wear foundation which is supposed to stay up to 15 hours. One of the things they could do to improve is adding a pump. You might end up pouring more than you should when you don't pay attention.
When my skin is acting up, in order to get that perfect base, I apply a few drops of Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair then this foundation applies flawlessly. Having dry flakes is not good as the foundation will cling on these bits, so make sure to have a good base before starting with a full coverage base.
If you are looking for a full coverage and natural matte looking foundation then you should definitely check this out. Yes, it is a bit on the pricey side, but you only need a little to cover the whole face so this 30 ml bottle would last quite a while.

My trusty foundation was MAC Studio Sculpt, it made me skin look so flawless. However, now that my skin is dehydrated and really dry, it tends to cake up. My skin feels exactly the same, even though it is dehydrated and really dry, it still gets oily so it is almost impossible to find a foundation that would actually make my skin look decent!
My best friend constantly raves about this and is always like Trishna, you need it in your life but I'm not a foundation lover, only for parties etc, but I guess if there was one I would keep aside for events such as those, I might just have to go and purchase it for that 'keep aside' date :P. It is one of the foundations that actually stay on my face for hours, I would recommend you to ask for a sample and then you decide yourself :) It is really good! x

I like DW Light because I find the original DW too matte for my skin. I have oily skin so most of the time I prefer the matte finish as it gets shinier during the day. I want to try light too, it might be good for spring/summer time! x

You don't need much with that, it really makes wonders :)
This foundation has been on my to buy list for so long.. considering this is matte and long wearing I could wait till summer to give this a try.

I guess it depends on your skin, I have oily skin so it doesn't get cakey on mine.

Double Wear looks really heavy and thick on me, I think if I mixed it with an oil it would look a lot nicer, but I actually prefer Double Wear Light. It still lasts but it is a much thinner, lightweight formula that doesn't feel so much like foundation, for me at least. I know so many people swear by DW though so it could just be me, great post! I don't wear it everyday, but when I have something special or having a bad skin day luckily it doesn't look heavy on my skin :) x
This seems like such a great foundation, mainly since you've mentioned how much longer it lasts compared to MAC's pro long wear, which I have heard is pretty good! I don't understand why most foundations that are in glass bottles don't have pumps, it's so annoying because you have to be extra cautious to not waste any extra product. The one I'm currently using by Mineral Fusion also doesn't have a pump, but it works so well for my ultra sensitive skin that I just deal with it, lol. When I started using it, I ended up pouring more than I needed so it was just waste of money. Since I have oily skin, it is hard to find long lasting foundations, luckily this one gives me everything I need :) Have an amazing week, beauty! x

I have yet to try Lancome! Currently I use Channel, but as you mentioned so many on the market that I know when I was on the hunt for the perfect foundation it was hard for me to narrow down my choices. I do feel guilty time to time getting things that I know I'll only maybe use a few times, and try and limit those purchases as often as I can. When there are so many foundations in the market, it is really hard to narrow down the picks. I still haven't tried any Channel makeup products, there are so many on my wishlist :)
It sounds like a wonderful product! :) I really don't get too adventurous with my foundation choices, I used one for years and only recently switched to the bodyshop one. I rarely wear makeup though, most of the time it's just a BB cream I wear so I don't like to spend too much on makeup I rarely use. I like the coverage this foundation gives, but I found it to be very drying on my skin, even with a moisturizer. x I can't wear it for more than a couple of days in a row, because I just end up with so many breakouts. I bought that one and wore it for a full day for the first time last Saturday. I found it settled in my pores, something I haven´t experienced with other foundations. Oh no, that doesn't sound good... I haven't had any issue with it, some of the foundations I used before done that but this one just keeps my skin looking flawless.
I will try different ways of wearing it then.

This didn't work for me personally when I tried out a sample, but I do know that so many people swear by it. Lately I have been all about minimal coverage so I use my trusty MAC Pro Longwear Concealer along with some BareMinerals Pro Powder foundation in the areas that need some coverage x <a href="http://www.beautywithcharm.com" rel="nofollow">Beauty with charm</a>
I guess it all depends on the skin type, if you have normal to dry skin then this foundation would be a nightmare. x

Ask for a sample first. If you have normal to dry skin, it might not be the best foundation for you.
I used to use this foundation when my skin was a lot worse, and found it found it hugged any dry patches of skin quite badly. Having said that, now my skin has improved I'd definitely be willing to give it another go with the addition this time of applying a few drops of their Night Repair serum! It is not the best foundation to use when you have dry patches, I had similar problems before so now I know when to rely on this foundation :) x

It's so easy to forget that achieving a perfect base, starts with your skincare! I've really been taking the time to do my skincare everyday and I've really seen a difference. I'm loving using coconut serum at the moment. It even gets rid of blemishes and marks super quick. I've been obsessed with the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation for ages too. Without a good skincare routine, it is almost impossible to achieve flawless makeup. Lately I am feeling quite lazy so I tend to skip a good skincare routine then I could see the effects straightaway!
