I have quite a few perfumes in my perfume stash, however, it doesn’t stop me from getting new ones. I repurchase my staples and any new interesting ones are always on my radar. Shay and Blue Blood Oranges Fragrance is the new one to join to my stash.
Last year’s M&S Advent Calendar also had Shay & Blue perfume. It was the first Shay & Blue product I tried and it wasn’t bad at all. Shay & Blue Atropa Belladonna is more on the spicy, woody side.
Shay and Blue Blood Oranges is a refreshing fragrance and you get the burst of oranges with the first spray. It smells sweet, warm and a little citrusy… It really smells like freshly cut oranges. Once it sets on the skin, it leaves a subtle smell which is not overwhelming. It’s like a unisex fragrance, it doesn’t smell girly but fresh. If you prefer unisex scents then you have this option as well.
I would say it is a citrusy-woody fragrance. Top note of the fragrance brings the immediate fresh bursts of blood orange and heart note is more intense… a well-balanced note of napa leather. After an hour of drying, the base note brings the passionate musk with charred woods and amber.
Like all other Shay & Blue fragrances, Shay and Blue Blood Orange is a natural fragrance and it is made with real flowers, fruits and spices. It might be one of the reasons why it is not as long lasting as I’d like my perfume to be. Every fragrance acts differently on different skins. After an hour or two, I could hardly smell the perfume. There are so many reviews about it being long-lasting, so it might just be my skin. It is not a problem to refresh the perfume every a few hours, but it is not ideal.
Shay & Blue Blood Oranges is £55 for 100 ml. 10 ml comes handy for the small bags, especially for the party season! Apart from it not lasting for long, I like everything about this perfume. It is refreshing and it is not overwhelming. Due to its refreshing smell, I’d say it is more suitable for warmer months. If you are looking for a natural perfume, I’d recommend you checking Shay & Blue fragrances.
