Have you ever heard about Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser before? It wasn’t until some years ago that I heard this brand, and it was after reading a newspaper article like “Ponds Cold Cream keeps Kylie Minogue young”. That’s when I decided to try it out. Is it really true? Let’s find out…
The main reason I wanted to give it a try was that I needed a cleanser and this one was really cheap, it was below £5. It is such a bargain for such a promising product, don’t you think so?
Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser is a thick cleansing butter. It doesn’t only remove the makeup and cleans the skin, but also moisturises the skin so well. The texture is close to The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter, which I really liked using (If you are interested in another skincare product of The Body Shop please check my post The Body Shop Vitamin E Sorbet. I’ve been using Cold Cream on and off for years. I mostly use it in winter (makeup removing waters make my skin really dehydrated in winter) when my skin gets kinda rough and needs extra care. You only need a tiny amount of it for cleaning the face starting from the eyes. It completely dissolves the whole makeup and in the mornings you don’t need to worry about having panda eyes, you know sometimes it happens! After using Ponds Cold Cream Cleanser, my skin feels so soft and it glows.
Let’s talk about the bits I don’t really like. It kinda has a strong creamy scent, which I don’t really like, because unscented products are my favourites. Also once you use it, you will need warm/hot water to remove the grease on your hands. Even though this cleanser might feel good on your skin, it definitely doesn’t feel the same way on your hands for some strange reason. Except these two things, I am really happy with it.
Would I recommend it? I guess I would. It is definitely not ideal for summer (especially if you have oily skin like I do), however, it does a good job for the days when your skin needs extra hydration and moisture. The cream is also currently on offer at Boots.
And about what Kylie said… I haven’t used it that frequently to say anything about it, but how realistic is it? I am sure her young looking skin is also because of all the facials she gets!
