Peachy Cheeks with MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush

Some products like blushes or bronzers are better when they are not extremely pigmented. You wouldn’t want to have excessive amount of blush after the first swipe and then you try to make mute it down. So having a sheer one, which you could build up, is a better option. MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush is one of these blushes, which will give a pop of colour with one swipe but nothing more.
My MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush Peachykeen Review
MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Peachykeen is a mixture of peach and pink with fine golden shimmers. It is more on the pink side than peach. Even though it is a shimmery blush, it still looks natural on the skin. Golden shimmers highlights the cheekbones and give subtle glow. If you want that effortless glowy finish, you don’t need to use highlighter but this blush. Also, if you’re a matte lover, then this is definitely something you wouldn’t like. It gives nothing close to a matte finish.
Since it is a sheertone blush, you won’t get much colour with one swipe. If you’re after a subtle look, then it will be more than enough. For a more intense look, you need a few swipes to build it up. It is one of the things I love about it. Also, the sheertone blush is easy to work with, it just blends easily and easy to build up.
People with oily skin know how hard it is to maintain the makeup. Most of the products don’t last long and you have to be refreshed all the time, I must say it gets really annoying. MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush lasts around 5-6 hours on oily skin before starting to fade, so I would expect it to last for a whole day on normal skin, which is pretty good. Even after fading, it still leaves a wash of colour, so even if you can’t reapply it, it won’t look bad.
MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush has been one of my most worn blushes. I still prefer the texture of Max Factor Crème Puff Blush just because it feels silky, but I really like the peachy pinkish colour mix and the glow I get with this blush.
Do you prefer building up your blush or having intense colour after a first swipe? Have you tried MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush before? What’s your latest favourite blush?

I prefer a subtle blush and I loooove the colour of this one! So gorgeous! x www.shayholly.co.uk
Me too, they just look better! x
I love this finish from Mac. Sunbasque and Plum Foolery are just gems in my collection! I haven't tried this shade but it looks great! xx Advaita | Blush Canvas
This one is perfect for spring and summer! xx
I prefer all my makeup to be pigmented in the first swipe, but then again I am extra careful with application anyway, so I rarely completely overdo. My favorite MAC finish is the satin blush finish. Linda, Libra, Loca: Beauty, Baby and Backpacking
Except blush and bronzer, I prefer my makeup pigmented too. I can never be light handed when it comes to applying blush so less pigmented ones are better for me.
The great thing is there is so much variety out there for all of us, so each one can pick what they prefer.
It sounds like a wonderful finish which I've yet to try, though I will choose another shade as I generally much more prefer a good true peach on my cheeks! http://fannyanddailybeauty.com
There's one shade called peaches (not 100% sure tho) which is a beautiful peach shade, you'd like it.
I am loving peach at the moment - anything from clothes to make up and this is definitely one I will need to be getting for the collection! Great post! Charlotte x http://shillysossage.blogspot.co.uk
Peach looks beautiful on the cheeks, one of my favourite shade. x
It sounds like a lovely blush! :) I definitely think blushes that take a few swipes to build up are the best - sometimes I'm not paying attention in the morning and I put on far too much blush as I over swipe the brush in a hurry! haha! It's hard to blend it out again sometimes! Away From The Blue Blog
I had that problem in the mornings when it is pitch black and I was just so sleepy to pay attention to what I was doing so less pigmented blushes are always better :)
It is a lovely color, i do prefer blushes not so pigmented to. XX karinanopaisdasmaravilhas.com
It is best to buil up:) x
I also prefer blushes that are not too intensely pigmented as they're easier to work with and if they give some subtle glow I'm all over them :) Peachykeen looks beautiful! x Mummy’s Beauty Corner
Definitely agree! Extremely pigmented blushes are really hard to work with x
I'm glad to see a MAC blush getting a pretty good review because I love their blushes! I never tried peachykeen though because I heard its similar to Nars orgasm or benefit's coralista which I already have in my collection. MAC matte and mineralized blushes are very good too! Miriam ♥ A whole lot of serendipity
I wanted to get Nars Orgasm before that but it was out of stock so went for peachykeen instead. They are really similar, I could say orgasm has some shimmers in it. I want to get matte ones, most of the time I prefer matte ones so I need to check out their range.
I think it is defiantly better to build up a product rather than have a heavier application in one go, this is particularly important for blusher as I can be heavy handed without any help! I really like the sound of this product and will be giving it a go. Great review x www.joannevalentine.com
Totally agree with you. Pigmented blushes are hard to work with if you're not light handed so it is best to stick to less pigmented ones and build it up. x
I havent tried this blush before but i prefer building up a blush rather than having intense color pay off. This blush sounds good :) http://notsohardtobepretty.wordpress.com
It is a really pretty blush, perfect for spring and summer :)
The shade of this blush is stunning! xo, Liz http://lipstickandconfetti.com
It is really pretty! x
I'm just like you: for blush and bronzer, I prefer less pigmented products. I've never tried any MAC blushes, but lately I've been eyeing a couple of their matte ones! ;) http://carolinapage.eu
It is my first MAC blush, I was meant to go for matte one but seeing this made me change my mind. It is close to Nars Orgasm which I couldn't pick up.
The shade looks stunning! Love, Hannie Arden from missingwanderer.org.
It is really pretty.
I definitely prefer building up my blush , I feel like I have more control like that! Samantha Series
I feel the same, building up gives better result.

This looks like a very pretty blusher with the peach and gold tones. Gemma x www.jacquardflower.uk
It is definitely pretty! x
For powder products I definitely prefer less pigmentation but for cream blushers I like if they are more pigmented and don't disappear after blending. My favourite blushes are all from Sleek, they are just so good and affordable. :)
It has been ages since I've last used cream blushers, I was just not good at applying them so I gave up:)
I definitely prefer ones that are not to pigmented! I always manage to go over board! This blush sounds brilliant. I love the look the shade to. I don't think I own a blush that similar.. So that's a justified purchase haha xx
Less pigmented ones are easy to work with, I go over board with pigmented ones so I try to stay away from them. xx
I'm a big fan of cream blush as it looks so natural. It's nice to hear that this one has good staying power
I am really bad at applying cream ones so I haven't used them for a long time.
Peach tone blushers are very tricky on my skin because they usually disappear on me. Recently I received a stick coral blush in my February ipsy bag and it took me by surprise, maybe I'll post about it. Shireen | Reflection of Sanity
It is not really peachy, more on the pink side. Coral blush is beautiful, you should write about it:)
I've never used a blusher because I'm not how to properly apply it. This one looks like a nice product though. www.mydailywear.co.uk
I love the colour blushers give to my cheeks, especially when I'm not looking the best.
I'm not a big blush wearer (it's very rare that I ever use it) but this one looks nice! Peach blushes can look so much better than pink ones (especially if you already have super pink undertones in your skin!) Honestly, I only own one blush that came in a palette with eye shadows lol! www.lindseyginge.com
I prefer peach tones more than pink ones, they just look better on me. I don't have many, but there are some I'm eying on!
For some reason I never wear blushes like this but I really should try!
Blushes look beautiful on you!
This color is so pretty and perfect for spring and summer! I have oily skin, so I was nodding the entire time while reading the part on how makeup just doesn't last long, it really is annoying! Because of that, I prefer blushes that have a more intense color from the start, I feel they last longer on me than those that need to be built up. Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you're having a great start to your week so far, beauty! XO, Jalisa www.thestylecontour.com
Life is really hard for those who have oily skins, we just have to be extra careful on everything. It is really annoying. I hope you have an amazing week, sweetheart! x
I love this colour it will be so cute going into summer :) 5-6 hours wear sounds perfect, I hate having to re aply in the day because I'm always too busy :) I think I prefer to build up because it's a nightmare when you have to keep wiping it down :) lots of love, Marianne xxx MyhappybubbleXx.blogspot.com
5-6 hours is pretty good, I wonder how long it will last in summer:) x
I love the shade of this blush, its so perfect for the coming months, I rarely wear blusher but my rimmel one is coming to a very dear end, I might just have to give this a purchase and I also love that it isn't a matt finish ♥ tipscapsule.blogspot.com
I still haven't purchased Rimmel one. There's one that I really want, I just can't remember the name. x
Mac's blushes seems always so good and the colour is perfect for spring-summer, I love it! www.blossomikebana.com

I've actually never tried blush from MAC before, but use their mascara and love it. So I wouldn't hesitate in buying this one. I definitely prefer building up the product versus intense colour. Loved the review and ur photos, as always! www.wunderbliss.com
I haven't tried any mascara but I'm sure it is really good. Building up gives better and natural finish which I love. xx
This one looks absolutely phenomenal. I've yet to try alot of MAC products because I always end up thinking they're too expensive. But I do know that their quality is top notch, which is silly of me to say what I just did. Either way, I recently bought a blush as it's always been something I was lacking on in terms of makeup and I do think that like this one, it's a bit shimmery and so, to people like me who are just starting to get really into make up, and like you said, really helps because it allows us to work on how we want our face as opposed to looking like we got slapped by the first swipe. Ella Pinto. xx
I don't have many MAC products and this is my first blush (I was a student for so long, so had to be careful with my spending and now a wedding coming up, I just can't get everything I need any *sigh*). I wish MAC products were a little bit cheaper. I wasn't really a blush person before so I don't have many blushes either, which I am trying to change now. I like the colour blushes give to cheek, they just make me look more alive in the mornings ha ha :) xx
I haven't tried these blushes out, but this one looks beautiful! I love peachy tones in a blush and I think that the gold pigments in it will look great in Spring. I think I prefer building a blush colour. Just so you have some time to stop, before it gets too intense lol. At the moment I'm using Peaches from M.A.C and loving that. But I'd like to move away from the matte blushes for a while and try one with some shimmer.:) - www.veebzboo.com - www.youtube.com/veebzboo - Valentine’s Day Make-up Look
Peachykeen would be perfect for spring and summer. Pink and peach mix looks beautiful, also the shimmers give really nice glow. Peaches is one of the matte blushes I want to pick up, it is a beauty!
I prefer blushes that you can build up too- I think that they look far more natural! This blush sounds like a wonderful shade and I love it when a blush is highlighting too. I find that whatever blusher I use, it doesn't seem to last longer than 5 hours. Maybe I just touch my face a lot? ;) haha Rachel xx http://www.thedailyluxe.net
That's also my problem! When I'm working and stressed, I find myself playing with my face and then makeup disappears. I should really stop that :) x
I love this color. It looks so summery and very easy to apply on http://www.thebandwagonchic.com/
It is definitely perfect for spring and summer.
I do like a blush that you can build up as I tend to be a little heavy handed sometimes, I don't have any Mac blushers but this one looks lovely :) Pams Stuff and Things
I am heavy handed too so I prefer to stick to less pigmented blushes :)

In summer when I have some tan, I do that too. It gives a nice finish.
I would say 5-6 hours for a blush is pretty good for oily skin! Charlotte // www.charlottespicks.com
It is definitely great, some only last 1-2 hours.
I have this blusher too and really like it but lately i have been turning to Nars Deepthroat more. I must get this one out to the front though, it really is pretty x franklyflawless.com

I still don't own a MAC blush but this sounds like a great option as I do love building up my blushes and the colour is gorgeous. I have so many intense blushes that I literally have to be so careful when applying so I like that this is sheer x Beauty with charm

Totally agree with you! Building up gives better finish.
This sounds lovely though it might not last too long on me with oily skin! I really want to try a MAC blusher at some stage so will have to give this a swatch! Danielle's Beauty Blog
It is my first MAC blush and I'm happy with my pick. I have oily skin too so 5-6 hours lasting is pretty good for me.
This sounds like the perfect color for me! I rather build, but I don't want to struggle. LOL http://www.averysweetblog.com/
It would look beautiful on you!
I am definitely like you, hon. I love the build-up option for my bronzer or blush. A big no-no to overbronzed cheeks. This blush looks gorgeous, I will absolutely give a little swipe test of this shade but I think it would match my skin tone quite well. Thanks for a great review & sharing your thoughts on it. I used to own a MAC blush in Gingerly if I'm not mistaken - I LOVED it! No idea why I forgot to re-purchase it lol. At the moment my favourite blush (well, technically, it's a bronzer) is MUFE Pro Bronze Fusion - it's subtle, buildable, not too matte and not shimmery - just perfect <3 xox Nadia http://www.mielandmint.com/
Before I used to go for pigmented blushes but changed that after struggling with them. Building up gives a better result and looks more natural. That bronzer is gorgeous, I need to check out some bronzers as summer is getting closer:) x
That blush looks so dainty and wonderful! xoxo http://www.look-brooke.com/
It is so pretty! x
The blush look amazing. The color would be so lovely for spring, when the sun will return. :* Xx Blue Ducklings Http://www.blueducklings.wordpress.com
Totally agree with you! It would be perfect for spring :) x
Aww it's so pretty! It actually looks really similar to a Sleek blush which is in a trio of theirs called Lace. The only difference seems to be that the Sleek blush is a powder. I'm a very messy person when it comes to...ermm..everything :D that includes doing my makeup. Which is why I actually really prefer blushers that you can build up and blend easily. I haven't tried this exact product but it looks really nice, so maybe someday :) Thanks you for the amazing review hon <3 Hope you've had a wonderful week so far! Emma xxx www.wellemma.com
I am a mess too when I'm applying my makeup! I just have to be really careful, especially when I'm applying an eyeliner :) pigmented blushes might sound good but they are not easy to work with so this one is good:) I hope you have an amazing week <3 x

Oh no:( it was same for me too until a few months ago, It is my first MAC blush.
I always hate when you walk out of the makeup place and they've put way too much blush on your cheeks. So I appreciate your tip about layering with sheer until you get the effect you desire. xx Yasmin http://banglesandbungalows.com
I hate it too so I prefer building up. x
I never tried this blush before, but it sounds like such a pretty color! Peach + gold= lovely! :) http://trend-mixblog.com/
It is a pretty shade:)
I have had peachy keen before in the past, and loved it, but I only use it sparingly on my cheeks and build it up with a bronzer or highlighter added.I rarely buy MAC anymore, but do have a couple of products that I like. /Madison Music Inspiration
I don't have many MAC products but when I feel like spoiling myself, MAC is great for it:) Peachykeen is a really pretty shade.
That blush looks gorgeous. www.themakeupaficionado.com
It is gorgeous :)
Peachykeen was my first MAC blush! I still have it, but I barely made a dent. I love it for the spring! Yes I do agree that sometimes sheerer blushes may be better because it's easier to build up...but I can't help but still prefer more pigmented blushes! (like The Balm's InStain or NARS blushes) Hannah http://floraful.blogspot.com
Peachykeen is my first MAC blush too :) I always apply so much when I use pigmented blushes so for natural look, sheer ones are the best.
I love being able to build up the color. Often, I tend to overdo my blush and spend ages trying to blend it out. :/ xoxo, Regina http://mybeautymusings.com
Ha ha, I do the same :) so having a sheer blush is better for me.
I'm a bit on either side here Ela! I love to be able to build up my blush but it depends on the pigmentation because the last thing I want to do it spend 5 minutes trying to build up the blush on my cheeks! LOL I suppose it all comes down to the quality of product you're using :) X Anjelique http://www.anjelique.com.au | snapchat: anjeliquetv
Ah I would hate that too! When I use really pigmented ones, I always over do so having less pigmented which I could build up after a few swipe (hell no to 5 minutes) is a perfect blush for me:) x
I have to say as much as it annoys me I do prefer a more sheer blush as opposed to something overly pigmented. I don't have a deft hand when it comes to make up so something sheer is always a better option for me! Sxx www.daringcoco.com
Same here! I always overdo so having a sheer product is perfect for me. At least then I know I won't turn myself into a clown :) x
I've never tried this one but you make it sound really nice! Seems like it would be perfect with a summertime glow :) An old favorite of mine is the Nars Orgasm blush. Have you ever tried it? Have a great week Ela. Morgan | www.monde-et-mode.com
This blush is perfect for spring and summer, I'm sure I will be using it a lot. Before this, I wanted to get Nars Orgasm, but it was out of stock and ended up picking Peachykeen. Peachykeen and Orgasm are almost the same, so now I don't need to buy it :) have an amazing week!
