Whether you love it or you hate it, we are in the middle of Autumn and the days are getting colder and shorter. When the weather gets colder, out handbags get heavier, am I wrong? In order to cope with the cold weather, we carry extra items… we can call these items Autumn bag essentials.
Even though I love how colourful everything gets in Autumn, there’re a few things that I don’t really like. For instance, did you notice that the bags get heavier in autumn? You have to carry around so many things to keep yourself warm and protect your skin. Unfortunately cold weather is not your skin’s friend… What would be your top 5 autumn bag essentials that you have to have?
Autumn Bag Essentials
Scarves
Autumn weather is unpredictable. In the morning it might feel warm and a few hours later, it might be the coldest day of the season. When the weather is so unpredictable, it is best to carry a scarf with you. If you feel warm then just put it in your bag. Seasonal patterns are good, you should add some to your wardrobe!
Hand Cream
We all know that cold is not good for the skin. You should pay more attention to the parts that get affected by the cold more, like your hands. How often do you apply hand cream? You should try to apply hand cream at least 2-3 times a day. Sometimes I end up applying quite a few times just because they feel dry. So it is best to carry around a hand cream in the hand bag. You never know how the cold will affect your hand, so it is best to be safe than sorry!
Lip Balm
If you’re struggling with dry lips then you probably carry the lip balm everywhere with you. It is a must have product! You wouldn’t want chapped lips. It doesn’t only make lipstick hard to apply, it also hurts a lot. My lips get dry quite easily and if I skip applying lip balm then my lips are as dry as Sahara desert!
Lipsticks
I don’t like applying lip balm over my lipstick so in order to apply lip balm, I have to remove my lipstick. It means having a few lipsticks in the bag is essential! Since dark berry shades are the seasonal colours, Rimmel 107 and Make Up For Ever M402 are great choice! However when the main focus is the eyes then choosing something like MAC Twig is better.
Blotting Paper
You might be asking, why blotting paper… You use blotting paper to get rid of the excess oil, but did you know that you’d also use it to get rid of the water on your face without messing up your makeup? Think that you have full face makeup and you’re outside, then it starts raining then when you go indoor then you might want to fix your makeup. Instead of using paper towels to dry your face, you’d use blotting papers. It is a saver, trust me!
Powder
Powder can save your makeup without having to redo the foundation. After using blotting paper, powdering straight away will make your makeup look better. At least you don’t need to worry about your makeup that much.
Perfume
Perfume is an essential in my bag no matter what season it is. Even though I don’t use it all the time, it is good to feel safe. Of course depending on the season, I change the perfume in my bag. Whether it is Gucci Guilty Black or Lancôme La Vie Est Belle, I know that I can rely on them. Do you carry perfume in your bag?
Umbrella
This is one of the things I keep forgetting to carry and I end up complaining when it starts raining. Tiny umbrellas are the best to carry around. They are not heavy, so it is best to put it in your bag before you get soaking wet due to the rain!
Earmuffs
If you leave home when it is dark then you know how cold it gets in the mornings. Hats or hoodies might not be enough to keep your ears warm. Just get yourself earmuffs and you won’t have that sharp cold pain in your ears.
These are some of my autumn bag essentials. Cold can be as bad as the sun, so it is important to keep the skin well protected. With skipping hand cream or moisturiser, you’re damaging your skin more than you know. So let’s just take good moisturiser bath before leaving the home… What are your autumn bag essentials? What are the things that you must have in your handbag?
