Whether you are planning on giving Christmas Kisses or not, it is better to make sure that your lips are ready for it! Also, don’t you hate applying lipsticks on dry lips? If you are planning to wear colours like red which would bring out the imperfections, it is best to take care of the lips, especially when it is cold outside! A lip balm should be one of the must-have products of your beauty routine. M&S Advent Calendar covers you with that. Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix with Wintered Red Algae is the 7th product of the advent calendar and it smells festive!

I am not that familiar with the brand, actually the first time I discovered the brand was with M&S Advent Calendar again. 2 years ago, one of the products of the calendar was Skyn Iceland Icelandic Relief Cream, however, I wasn’t really impressed with it. Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix with Wintered Red Algae is the second product to try from the brand. Maybe I change my mind about the brand?

Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix with Wintered Red Algae is a vegan and cruelty-free lip treatment which aims to give an instant hydration boost, moisture and smooth the lips. It is packed with some promising ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Wintered red algae is a mineral-rich skin conditioner which provides immediate and long-lasting hydration.
  • Sweet almond butter is an intensely rejuvenating oil which helps restore lips’ natural moisture barrier.
  • Shea Butter is nourishing and helps heal and protect lips.
  • Olive oil conditions and protects dry, chapped lips.

What they say is… Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix will mark the end of dry, chapped lips for good and herald a new era of permanently kissable lips! All good and promising so far, but does it deliver?

Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix with Wintered Red Algae doesn’t have the texture like the traditional lip balms. It is like Vaseline but also gritty, however, nothing like the lip scrub but more like tiny micro-bits. I’m not used to having a lip balm like that. Also, due to the thick texture, having it in a squeezable plastic tube is not really ideal. I find it really hard to squeeze the product out. Having it in a jar would have bee a better option.

The lip balm leaves a tingling, cooling feeling similar to Burts Bees Lip Balm with Peppermint. If you don’t like that feeling, good news, it doesn’t last long! The most important question, does it give hydration boost? It might be my lips, but unfortunately no. It doesn’t help with the dryness of the lips. Also, it doesn’t get them really soft. It was a little disappointing product for me.

Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix with Wintered Red Algae is £12 for 12 ml. Would I recommend it? It depends on how your lips are… If you are dealing with really dry lips and need some heavy duty stuff then this will not make you happy. If you are one of the lucky ones with the soft lips but want to add extra hydration then this would definitely work for you. Unfortunately, I fall into the first category so I need heavier, like Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm.

Have you tried Skyn Iceland Berry Lip Fix with Wintered Red Algae? What’s your favourite lip balm? Can you recommend a really effective lip balm?
